Phyllis Marlene Queen

The LORD called His Beloved Daughter, Phyllis Marlene Queen home on November 13, 2021. You see she had a personal relationship with the Father the moment she accepted, Yeshua Hamashiach as her Lord and Savior.
Her parents Harvey H. and Mary C. (Martin) Parsley were used as vessels to bring her forth on October 31, 1934. She was one of eight (8) children born of that union. She would become one of a total of 13 siblings in her family. She was being groomed to love, nurture and care for people. Her husband, Bishop Charles Queen, Her parents, siblings and spouses- Betty J. Posey, Marjorie (Wesley) Butterfield, Lillian J. Smith and her brothers Joseph Parsley, James Parsley, Sr., Jack (Pam) Parsley, Richard (Roberta) Parsley, Ronald Glover and Charles Hubbard have already transitioned.
Her remaining family, siblings and their mates Patricia J. Dennis, Gregory W. Parsley, Steven E. (Beverly Parsley) Beverly Hubbard, Clara A. Parsley and Joy Parsley and from all of her siblings she would gain a wealth of nieces and nephews that she would love as her very own children.
Many of you who are in attendance today to celebrate the life of our Blessed Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend will have many different reflections and memories of her and of spending time with her at some point in these 87 years. She was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio. As a child she attended school in Lawrenceville where she graduated from Lawrenceville High School. Later in life she would go on to acquire her MBA from the University of Phoenix. She was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base until 1966 when She and her sister Margie traveled to Los Angeles, California. Keeping with the training and grooming she had received from her parents, to love, nurture and care for people she would launch ministries that would go to the streets to feed people.
She was employed with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. She became the first woman to be appointed as Assistant Director of Information Systems. She retired in 1995. She was an entrepreneur with her own business in California and Ohio called Gune - A Women’s Clothing Store. Her store here in Springfield was ran and operated by her sister, Patricia Joan Dennis.
It was in California where she would meet her husband, Pastor Charles Queen. Their union of marriage was blessed by God.
Sister Phyllis Queen would serve in many capacities at Strait Way Apostolic Church.
She was described as being The Pastor's eyes, hands, and reasoning.
She served as The Church Administrator. She served as -The Director and Implementation Supervisor for the Audio, Film and Tape Department. She implemented all of the high-tech camera systems all over the Church. Which she updated as the new technology became available.
She was the Founder of: The Strait-Way Church's Debutante Program, the Kudo’s Praise and Worship Team and The Tribe of Judah Praise and Worship Team. She served as the coordinator of their 8:00 a.m. Worship Services. She served as the radio voice/announcer for the Strait-Way Apostolic radio program. She was a much sought-after Speaker for Churches, Luncheons, Women's Day Activities and various Faith Based activities. She enjoyed writing and photography.
She was An Anointed Godly example of a Pastor's Help Meet.
Bishop and Sister Queen enjoyed traveling abroad to such places as Israel, as well as all throughout the United States. They were married until Bishop Charles Queen was called home to be with the Lord.
She enjoyed mentoring to those who were around her, she would pour out wisdom unto them. To her closest friends, she so cherished your friendship – Dr. Flaxie Fletcher and Sister Judith Gilbert and all of those not listed, we thank you for your devoted friendship to her.
